Kangaroo – the movie!

From the same studio that brought you Paddington, there’s a new movie inspired by the life of our very own Chris ‘Brolga’ Barns.

The movie is a heart-warming family comedy about ex TV personality, Chris Masterman, who becomes stranded in an Outback town outside Alice Springs after a car accident on his way to Broome. There, he teams up with 12-year-old Indigenous girl, Charlie.

The pair form an unlikely friendship and work together to rescue and rehabilitate orphaned joeys in a remote but stunning Outback community – an endeavour that proves to be life-changing for them both.

It stars Ryan Corr, Deborah Mailman, Ernie Dingo, Brooke Satchwell, Wayne Blair, Roy Billing and newcomer Lily Whiteley. Check out the teaser trailer for KANGAROO, below.

Note: Kangaroo is inspired by the life of Chris ‘Brolga’ Barns. This means a few fictional stories have been added to this beautiful movie. Brolga has never been a weatherman, has never touched a dolphin or run into a kangaroo and Roger was rescued as a tiny baby orphan. Charlie is a made up character.  Also, please be aware that kangaroos are not pets, and they never should be. Kangaroos are wild animals and belong in the wild. We release 95% of our orphans back to the wild. Those who can’t be released live their lives at our huge and wild kangaroo sanctuary.
